Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson made a statement on the media that he interested to be Manchester City manager. “City is a big, big club with unbelievable support. It would be an honour for me to be manager, like it would be for all other managers,” Eriksson said to Manchester Evening News.
“They have a beautiful stadium and the possibility of a new owner and of course I would talk to them if they indicate they are interested in me becoming coach.” Erriksson added. “City is an established Premiership club with great potential and I know they have ambitions to be challenging higher up the table.”
English Premiership club Bolton Wanderes signs defender Jlloyd Samuel 26-year-old for free transfer. Samuel previously plays for other premiership club Aston Villa. “I was at Villa for 10 years and when you have been at a place for so long you become part of the furniture,” he said. “I felt like I needed a change and I’m sure that by coming up to Bolton I will get myself playing again. Bolton is the club to get my career back on track.”
Samuel struggled for first-team this season. Samuel previously hinted on his personal website that his time with Aston Villa could be about to come to an end due to lack of recent opportunities. Samuel has been a professional at Villa for the last decade but the signing of Wilfred Bouma and various injury problems have limited his match action over the last two years.
Jlloyd Samuel will sign a four year contract with Bolton Wanderers begin on 1 July 2007.
English Premiership champion Manchester United reported prepares for plan B to move Dimitar Berbatov from their rival Tottenham Hotspurs. Manchester United preparing to offer Tottenham £27.5m and Luis Saha to swap with Dimitar Berbatov.
Manchester United previously wants to move Berbatov to Old Trafford but Tottenham said that they do not want to sell the striker and Berbatov himself claims to be happy at White Hart Lane.
