A Chinese Consortium To Buy Manchester United

A Chinese Consortium reported to buy English Premierhip club Manchester United from The Glazer family. The consortium ready to make £850million (1.7 billion dollar) bid for the action. The contact was made with United by an English-based finance expert on behalf of the consortium. However sources close to the Glazer family said that there is no approach from any consortium. “There has been no approach from any consortium, there has been no offer and, even if there had, it would not have been considered, The family are absolutely and totally committed to Manchester United over the long term” said a family spokesman.
Malcolm Glazer had a much publicised and controversial £800million takeover of the Red Devils two years ago but the Americans have been happy and celebrating recently as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men claimed their first Premiership title for four years.
However, having paid £800million for the club in the first place and already negotiated massively-increased sponsorship deals, there would hardly seem to be any point in selling now, especially with a huge new television contract due to come into force next season.
