AC Parma Sold !!!

After reported putting itself up for public sale, Italian Serie A club Parma finally sold to a consortium led by Italian businessman Tommaso Ghirardi.
Ghirardi, whose business interests include engineering and steelworks, already owns fourth-division soccer team Carpenedolo. He acquired Parma together with businessman Angelo Meneghini, who’s active in the dairy sector, and local bank Banca Monte di Parma.
“We believe in the sport and we believe we can operate well. We’re not just passing by. We want to give a lot to Parma and Italian soccer,” Ghirardi was quoted as saying by the Apcom news agency.
Parma, a two-time UEFA Cup winner, has been run by a temporary administration since dairy giant Parmalat went bankrupt in December 2003.
