Barcelona To Sign La Coruna Defender Jorge Andrade

Spanish Primera club Barcelona reported their interest to sign Jorge Andrade from rival club Deportivo La Coruna. Frank Rijkaard and Txiki Begiristain both agreed to include Andrade to Barca shopping list next season. La Coruna President Augusto Lendoiro also reported to be willing to let the player go as long as they received the same amount of money (€12m) that the La Coruna paid to transfer Andrade from FC Porto.
Andrade was previously very close to signing for Barcelona, but the injury forced the Catalans to turn to the available Lilian Thuram.
Andrade has been courted by numerous clubs on different occasions, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Valencia and Inter Milan. Andrade was part of the Portugal national team at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2004.
