Blackburn Rovers To Protect Benni McCarthy From Man Utd.

English Premiership Club Blackburn Rovers reported by The Daily Mail to extend the contract for their striker Benni McCarthy. McCarthy is Rovers’ top scorer this season with 18 goals recently and its in the top flight since Chris Sutton who scored 21 goals in 1997-98. The new contract is to protect McCarthy from other rival Manchester United who reported interested to bring the player to Old Trafford as the replacement of Henrik Larsson.
Rovers boss Mark Hughes said: “He has done remarkably well in his first season. I’d put him in the very top band of Premiership strikers.”
Benni McCarthy moved to Balckburn Rovers in 2006 after previously play for Portugal Primeira Divisão club Porto 2001 - 2006.
