Andres Iniesta Stay At Barcelona Until 2014

Barcelona and Spanish attacking midfielder Andres Iniesta reported to keep stay in Barca team until 2014 after months discussions with president Joan Laporta. Iniesta will earn 5 million euros per annum and 150 million euros release clause. Iniesta happy with his new contract, “I’ve never wanted to leave Barcelona, I want a longer contract, with 2014 the goal.”

Iniesta generally deployed by coach Frank Rijkaard in a central midfield role and is a favourite amongst the Barca fans.

Lyon To Sign Eidur Gudjohnsen From Barcelona

French Ligue 1 champion Lyon reported to sign Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen. Lyon ready to move Gudjohnsen with a £7 million cost. Lyon plans Gudjohnsen as a replacement for their Brazilian striker Fred.

Eidur Gudjohnsen 29-year-old is the captain of the Iceland national team and is often referred to as the greatest Icelandic player who is currently still in the game.

English Premiership club West Ham United also reported linked with Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Arsenal Striker Thierry Henry Set To Join Barcelona

Arsenal soccerstar Thierry Henry is set to join Spanish Primera Liga club Barcelona for four-year deal contract. Henry will visit Nou Camp on Monday for medical test. Henry join Barcelona for £16million cost and he will receive £128,000 a week. Barcelona President Joan Laporta said, “Henry is one of the greatest players in the world and a player who could improve our side. He has interested us for a long time”.

“It’s now or never for me, sadly it has to be ‘Now’,” said Henry to British tabloid The Sun. Henry also cites Dein’s departure as vice-chairman as a key reason for his move. “David Dein is no longer there and there is no denying the fact this has de-stabilised the team and the manager,” Henry added.

After Henry, Barcelona also reported to bring Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as their next manager to replace Frank Rijkaard.

Arsene Wenger The New Barcelona Coach

After losing Spanish Primera Liga title, Spanish giant Barcelona reported to replace Frank Rijkaard with other coach. There was speculation that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could be the number 1 target of Barcelona, this rumours come after France media reported that Arsene Wenger met with Barca director Feran Soriano in Paris.

Arsene Wenger still have one year remaining contract deal with Arsenal, but the lack of transfer funds and the loss of his close ally David Dein, who quit the Emirates last April might be make Wenger to finish his contract one year earlier.
