England Football Federation (FA) announced that they will boycott england friendly match againt Spain if the game held in Real Madrid home base Bernabeu. FA refuse to go back to Bernabeu after the abuse directed at Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Jermain Defoe and Jermaine Jenas during a game in 2004.
FA Statement said that, “We are fully aware of the steps Spain have taken to combat racism. But our view is it’s sensible to play at a different venue on our first return to Spain. Fabio Capello is also totally supportive of this fixture”.
However England manager Fabio Capello dnied that he support FA for this matter. Capello said: “It’s a mistake by the director of communications of the English federation. I don’t know how my name has appeared in all this. Why would I not want to play in the Bernabeu? It’s my home. Everybody knows that I love Spain. I have a house in Marbella and I love Madrid, a marvellous city where I have spent two great years. I don’t decide where England play, it’s a decision of the English federation which they will have to agree with the Spanish. For me I don’t mind where we play, and of course if it is the Bernabeu, then all the better.”

After The FA dumped boss Steve McClaren - and his assistant Terry Venables, many candidates added to The FA. Ex Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and ex Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello seems lead the way to take over McLaren position as the next England manager. However Terry Venables said that Fabio Capello ex-Real Madrid chief Capello is the best candidate for the job.
“Managing England has become harder than ever and you need someone used to these extraordinary pressures and I believe that Fabio Capello is the right person,” Venables said. “People like Capello have already experienced such pressure in their own country,” Venalbes added.
Fabio Capello said, “It would be a very interesting challenge for me and difficult challenges have always fascinated me”.
“I am sure all managers and coaches would welcome the chance of leading England particularly, most of all, to take on such a difficult challenge - given that England haven’t won a trophy for so many years,” Capello added.
Capello also said that he has offered to talk with the FA for the position.
