Chinese midfielder Gao Leilei who currently plays for Finnish Premier Division Veikkausliiga club MyPa made his full debut last week when MyPa meets TPS Turku. Gao Leilei, previously play for Beijing Guoan and New Zealand Knights, signed for Finland’s MyPa last month. Gao Leilei also the first Chinese player to play in Finnish Premier Division. Gao made his debut for MyPa against FC Honka as a subsitute in the 46th minute on April 22, 2007.

U.S. Soccer and Nike, a major American supplier of sports equipment, has released The New US Soccer Third Jersey in royal blue with white pin-stripes and also features royal blue shorts and socks. US Soccer plans to wear the impressive new uniform on Sunday match against Ecuador in Tampa, Fla., and on March 28 against Guatemala in Frisco, Texas.

USA Defender, Oguchi Onyewu, transfer saga surrounding still continues. After an earlier report linking him to Olympique Marseille in France. English Premiership club Newscastle United have released the following statement that Onyewu is taking a physical with Newcastle on Monday and would join the club on loan for the rest of the season.
But Onyewu current club Standard Liege has denied Onyewu is in England, with their spokesperson telling eurosport: “We are aware of Marseille and Newcastle’s interest. I don’t know if he was at Newcastle yesterday, as it was a day off for our players. He is training today with the squad”.
In the past month, Onyewu has received interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea and AC Milan, amongst others. He turned down a $1.96 million dollar transfer from Fulham, where he would have joined fellow Americans Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra and Clint Dempsey.

USA and The Standard Liege defender Oguchi Onyewu confirmed to join French Ligue 1 club Marseille. This is finally end of rumours that he will join English Premiership club Chelsea. Chelsea, Newcastle and Porto were the most recent suitors for the American center-back.
“A final agreement will be signed over the weekend with Marseille,” read a statement on the Standard Web site. The transfer deal will cost Marseille an estimated $4 million.
This is the return for Onyewu to go back to France. Onyewu having played three times for other French Ligue 1 club FC Metz and 24 games for La Louvière during a loan spell before moving to Belgium in 2004.
