French Ligue 1 club Auxerre announced that they just sign Brazilian defender Marcos Antonio for four-year contract. “French Ligue 1 is the league I wanted to play in,” said Marcos Antonio 23-year-old. Auxerre coachJean Fernandez also happy with Antonio sign: “We were looking for a pure defender and we got it in Antonio”.
Marcos Antonio previously play for Portugal Primeira Divisão club UD Leiria.

French Ligue 1 champion Olympique Lyon appointed Alain Perrin as their new coach. Perrin signs a two year deal at the Stade de Gerland. “I must thank president Jean-Claude Plessis, I bounced back at Sochaux. Now I am at OL, one of the best clubs in Europe, ” Perrin said. “I am totally aware of what it means in terms of commitment, responsibility and sense of duty. I am ready for the challenge.” Perrin added.
Alain Perrin previously coached FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. Perrin began his coaching career at AS Nancy in 1983, as junior coach to Arsène Wenger. Perrin built up a reputation as a talented young coach whilst at the club, and was appointed to run the club’s academy. He also former Troyes, Marseille and Portsmouth coach.
After sacked by Portsmouth Perrin remained out of football management for 6 months, before returning on 19th May 2006 to the French Ligue 1 side FC Sochaux. In 2007, he won the French Cup with his new club over Olympique de Marseille. Perrin took over as manager of French champions Lyon on 30 May 2007, after Gérard Houllier resigned earlier this month.

Italian Serie A Club AS Roma reported to sign Peter Odemwingie from French Ligue 1 club Lille. AS Roma already made £6 million bid for Odemwingie. However there is still no response from Lille side for Roma offer.
Peter Odemwingie, is a Nigerian football player but born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan since his mother is Russian and a Nigerian father. However Odemwingie chose to pledge his allegiances to the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Odemwingie has 9 caps and 4 goals to his name with the Nigeria. He has also played with Nigeria in the 2004 African Cup of Nations, scoring 3 goals in 5 games.

Spanish Primera Liga club Barcelona reported to sign Eric Abidal the defender of French Ligue 1 club Lyon. The talk between Lyon and Barcelona regrading Abidal were set to take place this week. Lyon President President Jean Michel Aulas admitted that Abidal will go at the end of this season. “I could offer him a contract for life, but I understand that his stage at Lyon is over.” Jean Michel Aulas said.
“I understand that Abidal has had contact from Spanish Primera Liga club Barcelona,” said Aulas. “But until now Barca have not contacted us about the player.”
