Ahn Jung-hwan Joins Suwon Samsung Bluewings

Former South Korean World Club star Ahn Jung- hwan, 31, has signed contract with K-league club Suwon Samsung Bluewings on Tuesday.
“Ahn officially sign a one-year contract with Suwon this afternoon and scheduled to have a news conference Wednesday morning,” said a press release of the Suwon club.
Ahn left the K-league in 1999 after being selected as the most valuable player of the league and joined AC Perugia in Serie A of Italy in 2000. He has also played in the J-league of Japan and the French league during the past several years.
In the 2006 World Cup, Ahn scored the winning goal in the opening match of the World Cup finals in Germany. He was honored as a national hero in the 2002 World Cup with a golden goal in a match against Italy in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
However, Ahn had not signed on with any clubs after his contract with Duisburg in Germany’s Bundesliga expired in July last year.
