English Premiership club Chelsea reported to bid for Spanish Valencia soccerstar David Villa. Roman Abramovich rumoured to be ready to pay €60m for David Villa in the summer and to double Villa salary in Valencia to worth £3 million-a-season.
However David Villa agents José Luis Tamargo said that there is no contact between Villa side and Chelsea. “Villa wants to stay with Valencia because he is very, very happy there,” Tamargo said. “But, like every professional, things can be improved. His buy-out clause is €150m. For €60m he would go nowhere, but for €70m maybe”

Spanish Primera Liga club Barcelona reported to sign Eric Abidal the defender of French Ligue 1 club Lyon. The talk between Lyon and Barcelona regrading Abidal were set to take place this week. Lyon President President Jean Michel Aulas admitted that Abidal will go at the end of this season. “I could offer him a contract for life, but I understand that his stage at Lyon is over.” Jean Michel Aulas said.
“I understand that Abidal has had contact from Spanish Primera Liga club Barcelona,” said Aulas. “But until now Barca have not contacted us about the player.”

The new coach of Spanish Primera Liga club Celta Vigo, Hristo Stoichkov bring the first victory for his team after 1-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna . “I’m happy. The players enjoyed the game and so did the fans. They’re the ones who can change everything. With 1-0 I am satisfied because they are three points. It is important to enjoy today, tomorrow is another day.” Stoichkov said. Stoichkov previously appointed as the new Celta Vigo coach to replace Fernando Vasquez, who was dismissed by the club.

Spanish Primera Liga club Real Madrid announced that Getafe’s German coach Bernd Schuster would be the new coach of Real Madrid for next season after signed a pre-contract that states he will take over from 1 July 2007. Bernd Schuster will replace current Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello. Schuster’s also confirmed the details of the pre-contract agreement to Deutsche Presse-Agentur said If Real decide not to appoint Schuster as Fabio Capello’s successor the former German international will receive €1m. otherwise, if Schuster decides not to rejoin the club where he spent some of his most glorious years as a player he will have to shell out €1m.
