Adidas, a giantsports apparel manufacturer, announced that their 2006 sales grew 52 percent, boosted by the soccer World Cup in Germany and the purchase of Reebok in the United States. Adidas sales last year were 10.08 billion euros, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) rose by a quarter to 881 million euros ($1.16 billion).

NIKE, a major American supplier of athletic shoes, apparel, Nike Pro, and sports equipment, reported to placed a tender for importing 100,000 Soccer Balls monthly from Pakistan. Federal Minister of Labour Manpower & Overseas Pakistanis Ghulam Sarwar Khan said this development was the outcome of meeting of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz with President of NIKE at Davos last month.

Adidas, a giantsports apparel manufacturer, today launching a new global television campaign focused on sports figures who discuss how they overcame adversity in their lives. Twenty-one feature people such as David Beckham, the English soccer player, Gilbert Arenas, the U.S. basketball player and Jonah Lomu, the New Zealand rugby player. Film locales included Shanghai, Madrid, Spain, and Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Beckham ad will debut tonight, during the half-time break in the Liverpool v Barcelona match on ITV1.

Chelsea Keeper Petr Cech is back from his injury, and he is wearing something on his head, yup its a helmet and its cool. Cech wore his protective helmet during the Premier League match against Liverpool after a three-month pause caused by his serious head injury. Well actually its a rugby helmet buat Cech has been customize that helmet so he can hear well in the special protective helmet during the match.
“I’ve got accustomed to it (the helmet) over the two months of training…The main thing is that I can hear quite well in it…Of course, I sweat in it more, but not that extremely,” Cech said.
It is still not clear that Cech will use that helmet when he is fully recover from his injury. But we think that Cech helmet could be a new fashion in soccer.
