Arsenal Win The UEFA Women’s Cup !!!

English Arsenal women squad win The UEFA Women’s Cup this season after 1-0 victory aggregate against Swedish champions Umea. Arsenal Ladies became the first British club to win the trophies. “It’s the greatest moment in our history,” said the Arsenal women manager, Vic Akers. This trophies also completed their 20th anniversary.

Umea went into the tournament as favorites. The club is Europe’s only full-time professional team, but part-timers Arsenal managed to hold them at bay. The London club won a 1-0 victory last Saturday in the first leg of the final.

Umea came close to saving the match at times, with Ramona Bachman hitting the post and a shot by Marta bouncing a free kick off the bar. But Arsenal’s strong defence led them to a win on aggregate.

Last season, Ma became the first woman to win the Asian Young Footballer of the Year award after inspiring China to an Asian Cup triumph and winning the best player and top goalscorer awards at the women’s Under-20 world championship.
