Cristiano Ronaldo Fined For Speeding And Manipulating The Legal System

Manchester United soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo was fined £500 with £500 costs — about an hour’s of his wages in Man Utd — and was given six points on his licence for speeding and manipulating the legal system.
Cristiano Ronaldo was driving a Porsche Cayenne in the city in 2005 when he was caught by a speed camera. Ronaldo denied that he is guilty by letter in February last year, but in a letter to the court yesterday, the Portuguese player changed his plea to guilty.
District judge Wendy Lloyd, sitting at Manchester magistrates court, said, “There can be no credit for a guilty plea. The system has been manipulated in this case up until the last minute. The case now due to proceed is very old.â€
