Fulham To Sign South Korean Lee Chun-Soo On Loan

English premiership club Fulham reported their interest to sign South Korean player Lee Chun-Soo on loan. Lee Chun-Soo current club The K-League member Ulsan Tigers confirmed that they have received a fax from Fulham about the possibility of a one-year loan deal for Lee Chun-Soo and will consider the offer but will not be rushed into making a decision.
“We still have time and will look at whether the deal is good for both Ulsan and Lee,” Ulsan vice president Kim Hyung-yong said. On the proposed loan deal said that Fulham will loan for Lee until 30 June 2008, but Fulham have the option of making the pacy forward a permanent signing subject to a £2 million fee.
Lee Chun-Soo previously confirmed his interest to play for English Premiership club. “I really want to play in England,†he continued “and I don’t care which team.â€
Lee Chun-Soo was a key member of his national team during the 2002 World Cup and the 2004 Summer Olympics. After the World Cup, Lee moved to Real Sociedad of Spain, becoming the first Korean to play in the Spanish La Liga. However, after a season of mediocre performance, he was sent on loan to another Spanish side Numancia, before returning to Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i of South Korea’s K-league.
Lee is set to make his second foray into Europe, originally to Wigan Athletic of the English Premier League but the deal fell through. He is now favourite to join Fulham FC on loan.
