Gold Medal For Romario 1000 Goal

Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) presented a special gold medal for former Brazilian soccerstar Romario, 41 year-old, who reached the 1,000 goal on his soccer career. This medal is exactly same with the one that CBF awarded to Pelé in 1969. “The Federation is honoured to be able to pay homage to a player of such importance as Romário, a player of vital importance in the history of Brazilian football” said CBF President Teixeira. Besides medal, Romario also will receive a special seleção jersey with the number 1,000 stamped on the back.
Romário scored his 1000th goal, playing for Vasco da Gama, he scored a penalty kick against Sport Recife claiming he is the second player of the story of the professional football to achieve this, a mark supposedly before only obtained by the attacker Pelé in 1969.
