Liverpool Join Manchester United For Atletico Madrid Captain Fernando Torres

English premiership club Liverpool reported to join their rival Manchester United to sign Spanish Atletico Madrid Captain Fernando Torres. Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez put Torres as an cheaper option than their main target Valencia’s £40 million-rated David Villa.
Manchester United manager Alex Fergusson previously also targetted Torres to replace Henrik Larsson at the end of this season.
Torres has always rejected moves to stay at his beloved Atletico Madrid. However with his international career on the wane and with never getting the chance to play European football, Torres has told friends he will move in the summer. Torres is adamant that he will not join another Spanish club and doesn’t like Italian football. It is percieved then that he will join an English club in the summer.
It is expected then that he will join Manchester United in the summer for a fee in the region of £20 - £25m
