Cristiano Ronaldo already has a contract with Man Utd until 2010 to be worth £60,000 pounds a week. British papers speculate United will raise that to £100,000 with an extension until 2012.
“Cristiano is at the right club,” Ferguson said Friday. “He wants to stay. Why should he want to go anywhere else? We have been negotiating for a few weeks now and hopefully we can come to an agreement where he will stay with us for the next few years.”
Cristiano Ronaldo future has been the subject of intense speculation over the past few months, with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona among the 22-year-old’s suitors.
