Ronaldinho Applies For Spanish Citizenship
Brazilian soccer superstar Ronaldinho has been applying for Spanish citizenship. A Barcelona club spokesperson says, “The process was started a long time ago and he should receive Spanish citizenship early next year .” If Ronaldinho receives this citizenship it will making him eligible to appear for FC Barcelona as a European Union player.
With Mexico defender Rafael Marquez gaining Spanish citizenship last month, Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o is likely to soon be Barcelona’s only non EU player. Spanish clubs are allowed three non EU players in their squads. Ronaldinho came second in the FIFA world player of the year award.
