Sevilla Wins 06/07 UEFA Cup Final

Spanish Primera Liga club Sevilla to retain UEFA Cup after beat their spanish rival Espanyol on the 3-1 penalty shoot-out final victory at Hampden Park, Glasgow. The games ended 2-2 after 120 minutes. “We have a right to say that this is the greatest moment in the history of the club,” said Sevilla club president Jose Maria del Nido. “We are double European champions and are going for three trophies this season. This team only knows how to win. I’m convinced that the league title will be ours, we deserve it more than anyone else” Jose Maria del Nido added.
Sevilla goalkeeper Andres Palop emerged as Sevilla’s hero by saving three penalties in the shoot-out to give his side victory over Espanyol . Palop saved spot-kicks from Luis Garcia, Jonatas and Marc Torrejon to give Sevilla victory. “The sky is the limit for this team,” said man-of-the-match Palop. “We are going to celebrate this trophy, but we haven’t forgotten that the season isn’t over and there are still more things to win” Palop added.
Kanoute, Ivica Dragutinovic and Antonio Puerta scored for Sevilla, while only Walter Pandiani scored for Espanyol.
