Youtube Sues By English Premier League

The Football Association Premier League Limited reported have filed a class action lawsuit in federal court in New York againts Youtube.com. A class action is to stop the unauthorised and uncompensated use of their creative and other copyrighted works and those of all other similarly situated copyright holders on the YouTube.com website.
The English Premier League plan to prosecute this case as a class action on behalf of themselves and thousands of others whose copyrighted works have appeared on YouTube.com without permission. The lawsuit seeks a court-ordered injunction to prohibit the defendants from continuing to violate various copyright protection laws. The lawsuit also asks for unspecified damages for YouTube’s past copyright violations.
YouTube has denied those claims, saying the suit threatens the internet.

jeffhall says:
In c40 of the suit filed by the English FA and Bourne & co it states:-
‘You tube users expect to find and view unauthorized copies of
copyrighted content ‘
I have used you-tube and “I do not expect to find” illegal copies nor
do I participate in any form of copying. This statement is defamatory to me and any other you tube user.
Since when does the FA’s exclusive rights to matches complied with competition legislation.
